Tanks are usually subject to climatic conditions or production-related influences. In the construction of new open silos (silos, coal silos), building codes must be observed. If dangerous goods are loaded and are expected to be operated with a forklift, the tank on the roof should always be protected against lifting.

When the tank is supported on three load points, and a sensor is set on each load point, the best sensor specification for determining the weight of the tank can be achieved. For vertical or suspended cylindrical tank, the optimal uniformity condition is satisfied when the three sensors are equidistant from the vertical axis of the tank and are 120° from each other on the plane.

If sensors are not configured on all supports in one type of equipment, the non-uniform distribution of support load is more suitable. If the tank is supported at four or more points, sensors must be considered at all load points.

The center of gravity of the tank full load should be lower than the supporting point of the tank. The position of the center of gravity varies with the height of the fill, and the center of gravity moves on a vertical line. It is possible to make a weighing device with a sensor. If the center of gravity of the loading changes laterally with the centerline, all supporting points should be equipped with sensors.

Tank loading and unloading interface. Tank loading and unloading interfaces are often required, such as loading and unloading of tank contents, electronic, hydraulic, or pneumatic accessories.

The loading and unloading interface of the tank can produce the influence of additional force, which leads to the error of measuring accuracy of the scale. In connection with an inflexible pipe, the tank is connected to a horizontal pipe as long as possible. The resulting stress on the sensor is correspondingly small and not important to the measurement accuracy.

Instead of a long horizontal pipe, several easily bent joints can be used to avoid additional forces. Other possibilities for reducing additional forces are through the configuration of curved tubes. In the case of vertical pipe introduction, it is generally realized by bellows compensation.

Pressure load In closed equipment, system pressure has an influence on the weighing results, especially in the chemical industry. When the pipe is connected vertically in the container, there is an additional force directly into the measurement. The effect corresponds to the product of the pressure and the cross section of the pipe, so it is preferable to use a horizontal joint pipe.
